The Walled Garden
In 1979 an ugly wing was demolished leaving the charming
Victorian Conservatory standing. Using the
stone from the dismantled building a walled garden was created. Planted
in calm purples, pinks and blues with stately Thalicrums, old-fashioned
roses, Campanulas, Geraniums and Asters creating colour harmonies from
June to the end of September.

Conservatory
Entered via the Walled Garden, the
original Victorian Conservatory is well over a hundred years old
- although much of the woodwork has had to be replaced over the
years during routine maintenance. The raised beds are planted with
semi-tender climbers to give a suitably exotic atmosphere in the
Summer. A splendid place to sit and relax.

The Hot Garden
A firework display timed to explode in August
with orange Crocosmias, yellow Heleniums, red Salvias, Lobelia and
flamboyant Dahlias, all held together with a tapestry of sultry
dark leaved foliage.

 The "Vean" Garden
Attached to the main house is a smaller secondary property,
Bosvigo Vean, which is Cornish for "Little Bosvigo House". We
just call it "The Vean". Its small front garden is divided by
cross paths and the four beds are planted almost identically in white,
blue and gold. Shaped cones of golden privet stand sentinel in each bed.

The Woodland Walk
A sinuous path winds through the Woodland garden.
In Spring, before the leaves come on the Beech and Sycamore, the
area is carpeted with drifts of Snowdrops, Hellebores, Wood Anemones,
Epimediums, Erythroniums and scented Narcissus.V

 Pink & Grey Garden
High above the Vean Garden, concealed behind
purple Prunus hedges is a small garden of pink and grey flowers and foliage.
An elegant wooden Arbour seat is set at the centre, perfectly placed to
catch the afternoon sun.
|
| Courtyards
A series of enclosed, cobbled Courtyards, planted
with elegant Ferns, Hostas, Pulmonarias and Box topiary in pots
connect the various gardens around the back of the House.

Azalea Dell
A short curving path leads up from the Monkey Puzzle
tree towards the plant sales area. A collection of scented, deciduous
Azaleas, graduating from pure white at the bottom through pale yellows
to deep reds at the top are on either side of the path. The area is heavily
underplanted with Pulmonarias, Camassias, Geraniums and Hostas.

Plant Sales
This is the home of our Nursery, Bosvigo
Plants. All the plants sold can be seen growing in the Gardens. We sell
rare, unusual and hard-to-find varieties of Herbaceous plants. Most of
them are fully hardy in Great Britain and we will always advise on plants
for difficult conditions. Please note we only sell to callers, we do not
offer a Mail Order service.
